is the co-founder of L-6 Land & Exploration, LLC, located in Midland, Texas. Mr. Lucas was raised in Midland, Texas and attended Texas Christian University where he graduated with a B.A. degree in 1973.
Mr. Lucas began his career at Phillips Petroleum Company as a petroleum landman in 1974 and has served as land manager for Western Reserves Oil Company, David H. Arrington Oil and Gas, Inc. and Novus Exploration, LLC, as well as president of Lucas Brothers Exploration Company. Mr. Lucas has also served numerous other major and independent oil companies on a contract basis. He has actively worked the Mid-Continent, Appalachian Basin and the Rockies.
Mr. Lucas is currently a member of the Permian Basin Landman’s Association, Dallas Landman’s Association and the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen. He was a co-founder of the Appalachian Association of Petroleum Landmen. Mr. Lucas has also been active in the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, Tennessee Oil and Gas Association and IPAA. He has been a mentor to many landmen.
